The next string of consonants comprise the labials and are shown as:

P, p has the same pronounciation as the letter P in the English word PEAS. Naturally, in Kashmiri, it is used in the following ways:

The combination PH, ph in Kashmiri represents the sound that the letters PH have in the English word SERAPH. Below are some of the Kashmiri words that use this sound:

The symbol B, b stands for the sound that the letter B would have in the English word BALL.

NOTE: It may have been noticed that there are no "strong" consonants in Kashmiri, as in many Indian languages. For instance, in Hindi we have an unstressed "B" sound for words like "BILLI" (kitten) and stronger stressed sounds like "BH" for words such as "BHALU" (a bear). In Kashmiri this is unnecessary since there are no Kashmiri words that need to employ the stressed sounds of consonants.
